2nd LD: Shanghai index's 7.82 pct jump halves in an hour

Growth of the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened strong with a quick 7.82 percent jump on Monday morning, before narrowing to 3.23 percent by 10:23 a.m.

The Shenzhen Component Index saw a similar pattern, with growth narrowing to 2.04 percent about an hour after rising 7.30 percent at the opening.

The growth range for the ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, narrowed to 1.19 percent about an hour after jumping 7.31 percent at the opening. Endi
