Lotto rider Andre Greipel won the second stage of the Tour de France in Neeltje Jans, in the Dutch province of Zeeland, on Sunday, with Fabian Cancellara claiming the yellow jersey.

After 166 kilometers from Utrecht to Neeltje Jans German Greipel won the sprint of a first group. Slovakian Peter Sagan finished second before Swiss Cancellara and Brit Mark Cavendish. Greipel captured his seventh stage win in the Tour.

Cancellara (Trek) won his 29th yellow jersey and took over the general lead from Australian BMC rider Rohan Dennis, who was victorious in the first stage on Saturday in Utrecht. Dennis was part of the second group on Sunday, with among others last year's Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali and Nairo Quintana.

After around 100 kilometers storm and rain caused a break in the peloton. Alberto Contador and Chris Froome were among the Tour favorites in the first group, which finished 1 minute and 28 seconds ahead of the second group.

After two days in the Netherlands the Tour will continue on Monday with the third stage in Belgium, taking the riders in 154 kilometers from Antwerp to Huy. The Tour will finish on July 26 in Paris. Endi
