Report on PMD of Iranian nuclear activities by end of 2015: IAEA chief

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will provide a report on verification of the past so-called "possible military dimensions" (PMD) of Iranian nuclear activities by the end of year, said IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano here on Saturday.

"With Iran's cooperation by end of the year we can issue report about PMD-related issues," he said.

Amano said progress was made in his trip to Tehran on Thursday, but offered no details.

The IAEA has long been asking Iran to grant the nuclear inspectors access to some military sites to verify if nuclear-related activities have taken place there, a request Tehran sees as an excessive demand beyond the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons safeguards agreement and Iran's obligation.
