Former South Korean Prime Minister Lee Wan-koo was prosecuted Thursday for bribery charge that had led him to resign as the country's second-highest administrative post.

Lee, who stepped down on April 27, was charged with receiving illegal political funds along with Hong Joon-pyo, governor of South Gyeongsang Province, the prosecution office said in a press release. (S.Korea-Former-Bribery)

MANILA -- At least 36 people died and 19 others went missing after a passenger banca capsized in the waters off Ormoc City in central Philippines' Leyte province on Thursday afternoon, said Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Armando Balilo, PCG public affairs chief commander, said the passenger vessel M/B Nivrana-B carrying 173 people were only 200 meters away from the shoreline when it encountered rough sea condition and capsized around noon.

---- JAKARTA -- Indonesian Air Forces Commander Air Marshall Agus Supriatna said on Thursday that an engine failure at the right wing caused the crash of the ill-fated C-130 Hercules transport plane on Tuesday noon.

Agus said that allegation on right engine failure came up from the fact that the plane banked to the right and failed to ascend like in a normal flight.

"It is alleged that the engine at the right wing was in trouble, inactive. The propeller stopped (from running)," Agus told reporters, conveying the preliminary findings of investigation into the plane crash in Soewondo Air Forces Base, Medan North Sumatra.(Indonesia-Crash-Reason)

---- ISLAMABAD -- At least two people were killed, 80 others injured and scores went missing when four compartments of a train fell into canal while crossing a bridge in Pakistan's east city of Gujranwala on Thursday afternoon, local media and officials said.
