India to ink pact with Myanmar, Thailand for smoother surface movement

Xinhua, July 1, 2015 Adjust font size:

India has reportedly said that it will soon ink an agreement with Myanmar and Thailand in a bid to facilitate smoother surface movement between the three countries.

"An agreement will soon be signed with Myanmar and Thailand to make surface connectivity with adjoining countries in the region easier," Indian Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari was quoted by the media as saying Tuesday.

India has recently embarked on a number of initiatives to boost connectivity with neighboring countries like Nepal and Bangladesh.

The measures are mainly meant for unrestricted vehicular movement among South Asian countries and northeastern India. Endi
