Singapore stocks close 1.13 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 37.15 points, or 1.13 percent, to close at 3,317.33.

A total of 1.18 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1. 25 billion Singapore dollars (932 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered decliners 250 to 173, while 542 others finished unchanged. The STI index lost 40.72 points, or 1.23 percent, to close at 3, 280.18 on Monday. Endi
