New Zealand seeks trade opportunities in Latin American bloc

Xinhua, June 30, 2015 Adjust font size:

New Zealand Trade Minister Tim Groser is to seek new ways to expand trade and investment with the Latin American Pacific Alliance group of countries this week.

Groser said Tuesday that he would attend the Pacific Alliance Summit in Paracas, Peru, from July 1 to 3.

New Zealand was an observer member of the Pacific Alliance, a regional integration grouping with four member states: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

"My focus at the summit will be to explore ways to deepen New Zealand's economic engagement with the Pacific Alliance, whose members represent collectively more than one third of Latin America's GDP," Groser said in a statement.

"I will also engage with the alliance on themes such as innovation, education, trade facilitation and entrepreneurship." Endi
