Liu Qibao holds meeting with senior officials of Spain's Popular Party over relations

A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said on Monday that China and Spain are friendly nations which enjoy sincere and reciprocal support and have a firm basis to their bi-lateral relations.
Liu Qibao, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, who is in Spain for a visit, made the remarks in his meetings with Andrea Levy, Fernando Martinez Maillo and Javier Maroto, Vice-Secretaries of Spain's governing Popular Party (PP).
This year sees the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the strategic association between Spain and China. Liu said that China attaches great importance to developing relations with Spain and that the two countries enjoy sincere friendship.
He noted that China believes lasting and stable relations are in the best interest of both nations and that the continued development of this relationship has great potential for the future.
Liu said China wishes to develop a practical cooperation in the economic and commercial sectors, as well as in the field of culture, while maintaining the excellent coordination in international affairs to take relations to a new level.
Liu Qibao expressed his gratitude for Spain's friendly policies towards China, which the PP has maintained during its three and a half years in office. He stressed that the Chinese Communist Party places importance on its relations with the PP and hopes to promote exchange and cooperation to give a firm basis to bilateral relations.
Levy said that Spain appreciates its relations with the CPC and said that strengthening bilateral exchanges and cooperation is important for the development of both parties and the development of the relationship between the two nations. Endit
