French stock market drops 3.74 pct on Monday

The French stock market benchmark index CAC 40 closed with a large decrease of 3.74 percent at 4,869.82 points on Monday, down 189.35 points.

Greatly affected by the position of Greece in its debt crisis, the CAC 40 closed lower on Monday with all of the 40 selected companies experiencing decrease, the largest drop since three years and a half.

The three companies whose stocks dropped most on Monday was Societe Generale, down 5.32 percent, AXA, down 5.26 percent, and Credit Agricole, down 5.02 percent.

In the previous trading day, the CAC 40 closed with a slight advance of 0.35 percent at 5,059.17 points, up 17.46 points. Endit
