Jordan rejects Syria's interference accusations

Xinhua, June 29, 2015 Adjust font size:

Jordan on Monday rejected accusations by Syria that it is interfering in its internal affairs, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

"Syria's claim are baseless," Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said.

Over the past few days, Syria accused Jordan of interfering in the crisis and supporting rebels in south of Syria.

Jordan has been always calling for a political solution in Syria, the minister said, adding that his country suffered from the crisis and received hundreds of thousands of refugees.

"Instead of casting accusations, they should focus on solving the crisis," he said.

He added that Syrians should cooperate with international efforts to solve the crisis in the country.

Jordan will continue to host Syrian refugees and provide them with services, he said, adding that Jordan is keen on the stability of Syria and respects international laws. Endit
