Pakistan condemns terrorist attacks in Tunisia, Kuwait

Pakistan has strongly condemned the bloody terrorist attacks on a hotel in Tunisia and a mosque in Kuwait, which resulted in the loss of many lives and injuries to scores of people.

A gunman disguised as a tourist fired at tourists in the Tunisian resort of Sousse on Friday, leaving 39 people dead, mostly Europeans.

Also on Friday, a suicide bomb strike on a Shiite Muslim mosque in Kuwait killed at least 25 people and wounded more than 200 others.

The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks.

"Pakistan strongly condemns the bloody terrorist attack on a hotel in Sousse, Tunisia, on 26 June 2015, which resulted in the loss of many precious lives and injuries to scores of Tunisians and foreign tourists," the Pakistan Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"The people and the Government of Pakistan share the pain and anguish of the people and the Government of Tunisia over the terrorist attack and wish to convey their heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for speedy recovery of the injured."

In a separate statement, Pakistan also strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack at a mosque in Kuwait City during Friday prayers, which resulted in the loss of lives and injuries to many people.

"The people and the Government of Pakistan wish to convey their heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for speedy recovery of the injured," the statement said.

"Pakistan reiterates its condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations," the Foreign Ministry said. Endi
