Tanzania's Coastal Union signs Ugandan coach Mayanja

Xinhua, June 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

Uganda's Jackson Mayanja has signed a two years deal as head coach of Tanzania's Vodacom Premier League side Coastal Union FC.

"This is a very good deal for me and the plans of Coastal Union fit within my plans as a coach. I am happy that I am getting another chance to handle a Tanzania team," Mayanja said on Thursday.

Last season the former Uganda Cranes attacking midfielder, who was also assistant coach of the national team, handled another Tanzanian side Kagera Sugar, who finished sixth in the 2014/15 season.

Mayanja will have a tough task of improving the Coastal Union FC team to finish in better position in the new season after coming fifth last season.

"I will also try to see that I get some Ugandan players who can help my new team perform better," added the coach who played professional football in Egypt during his playing days. Endi
