Consumer prices rise 0.1 pct in Japan in May on year

Consumer prices in the world's third largest economy Japan increased 0.1 percent in May on year for the 24th straight month of growth, the government said on Friday.

The Internal Affairs Ministry said the core consumer price index, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, stood at 103.4 against the 2010 base of 100. Enid
