Belarusian president dismisses State Secretary of Security Council

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has relieved Alexander Mezhuyev of the post of State Secretary of the Security Council due to complex family circumstances, the press service of the Belarusian leader said Wednesday.

Mezhuyev was appointed as the State Secretary of the Security Council in December 2013.

Lukashenko also appointed Colonel Gennady Kozlovsky head of the missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces, as well as head of the missile forces and artillery of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus.

Major-General Sergei Potapenko has been appointed head of the main combat training department of the Armed Forces, while Colonel Viktor Khrenin has been appointed commander of the troops of the Western Operative Command of the Armed Forces. Colonel Oleg Melnikov has been appointed Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the Western Operative Command of the Armed Forces. Endite
