Seoul shares ended higher on Wednesday.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) gained 4.33 points, or 0.21 percent, to 2,085.53 at the close. Trading volume stood at 394.96 million shares worth 5.24 trillion won (4. 73 billion U.S. dollars).

TOKYO -- Tokyo stocks closed at an 18-year high, six month high Wednesday amid improved investor sentiment drawing from perceptions that Greece is likely to seal a deal with its creditors.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 58.61 points, or 0.28 percent, from Tuesday at 20,868.03, a closing level last seen on Dec. 5, 1996. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 3.49 points, or 0.21 percent, higher at 1,679.89.
The turnover was 2,834.32 billion yen (about 22.87 billion U.S. dollars).

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's share prices closed up 0.06 percent on Wednesday with the weighted index up 6.17 points at 9,397.31, according to news reaching here from Taipei.
Turnover totaled 77.74 billion new Taiwan dollars (about 2.52 billion U.S. dollars) during the trading session.

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.48 percent to finish at 4690.15 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index gained 1.66 percent to close at 16312.31 points.
Combined turnover for the two bourses came in 1.5 trillion yuan (241.7 billion U.S. dollars).

HONG KONG -- Hong Kong stocks closed up 71.51 points, or 0.26 percent to 27,404.97 points on Wednesday.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index traded between 27,292.85 and 27, 470.50. Turnover totaled 117.04 billion HK dollars (about 15.08 billion U.S. dollars).

SYDNEY -- The Australian share market closed mainly flat on Wednesday after a day of subdued trade, inching slightly higher.
At market close, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was up 2.5 points, or 0.04 percent, to 5,686.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index gained 1.3 points, or 0.02 percent, to 5,672.7.

HO CHI MINH CITY -- VN-Index, the stock market index of Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City bourse in south Vietnam, closed at 590.02 points on Wednesday, down 3.05 points, or 0.51 percent, against the previous trading day's closing session.

MUMBAI -- Indian stocks snapped eight-day winning streak as Greece concerns resurfaced on Wednesday.
The benchmark S&P BSE Sensex closed at 27,729.67, 74.70 points or 0.27 percent down from previous close of 27,804.31. Endi
