(Sports)Myanmar players to contest in Thailand Karate event

Myanmar has selected players to take part in Thailand Open Karate-do Championship 2015 to be held in Bangkok, sources with Myanmar Karate Federation said on Wednesday.

The championship, slated for July 26 to July 31, marks the 50th anniversary of Thailand Karate Federation (TKF), organized by TKF with the full support of the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT).

Altogether 13 Myanmar players are gearing up for the championship.

"We will try our best to win gold medals in the Thailand Open Karate-do Championship," an official of the federation said.

Moreover, the federation will give intensive training to 50 selected Karate players as a preparedness for the 29th SEA Games to be hosted by Malaysia in 2017.
