Veolia wins deal to improve electricity grid in Guinea

French group Veolia announced on Monday an 11.3-million-euro (12.8 million U.S. dollars) accord with the Republic of Guinea to provide the West African country with electricity management services in order to improve its domestic power grid.

Through its subsidiary Veolia Africa, the group "will improve the management of facilities, the efficiency of the energy distribution network and the expansion of the network within the country," said Patrice Fonlladosa, Executive Vice-President Africa & Middle East at Veolia.

"This contract is a milestone in Veolia's development in Africa," Fonlladosa said.

Providing water, waste and energy management solutions to sustainable development, Veolia group has over 179,000 employees worldwide. (1euro = 1.134 U.S. dollar) Endit
