2nd LD: Casualties feared as blast hits Afghan parliament

Xinhua, June 22, 2015 Adjust font size:

Casualties were feared as a blast hit outside Afghanistan's parliament compound on Mondya which was followed by gun shots, local media reported.

The blast happened next to the fortified entry gate of the parliament followed by gun shots.

Police have cordoned off the area and denied journalists for access into the site.

Meanwhile, Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqi in talks with local media confirmed the incident, saying the details would be made public after investigation.

However, an official on condition of anonymity said more than six blasts rocked the area and windowpanes of the buildings and houses nearby were smashed.

Gun shots are still going on. Endi
