Boeljon wins Ladies Open Netherlands

Dutch golf player Christel Boeljon delighted the home fans on Sunday by winning the Ladies Open Netherlands at The International golf course near Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.

The 27-year-old led from start to finish with rounds of 69, 69 and 71. At 10 under par, Boeljon ended four strokes clear of Finland's Ursula Wikstrom and Denmark's Emily Kristine Pedersen.

Boeljon captured her fourth career European Tour tournament win and became only the second Dutch woman to win the Ladies Open, after Liz Weima won the tournament held at Rijk van Nijmegen in 1994.

"This is a big one," said Boeljon afterwards. "To be able to do it, leading from the start in front of a home crowd in my home country means a lot and it's something that I will never forget." Endi
