Tourists arrival to increase in Myanmar's Kayah State

The number of tourists arrival is expected to increase in Loikaw region, Kayah State of eastern Myanmar through the project involving cross-border tours and adventure tours, sources with the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism said Friday.
The entry gates are planned to open at two border posts along Myanmar-Thai borderline with the intention of accelerating tourist development undertakings in Loikaw region.
The entry gates will also facilitate the visits of Thais and third country nationals coming from Mae Hong Son province of Thailand.
Meanwhile, International Trade Center (ITC) is helping accelerate tourist development in the state, which has been chosen as a national export strategy(NES) region.
As the country's target for 2020 is seven million visitors, border gates are also serving as important doorways.
According to official statistics, in 2014, Myanmar received 3. 05 million foreign tourists, up 49.5 percent from 2.04 million in 2013.
