The conflict in Ukraine, the threat posed by so-called Islamic State, danger of terrorist attacks in Europe and the challenge of propaganda will feature prominently on the agenda of the international conference GLOBSEC, which starts in Bratislava on Friday.
"Next year's NATO summit will be historic and important. We designed the GLOBSEC Forum's debates to provide a platform for shaping several of the major issues on NATO's agenda," said Robert Vass, the founder of the Forum and Vice-President of the Central European Strategy Council that organises the GLOBSEC Forum on Thursday.
The keynote speaker of GLOBSEC will be British Prime Minister David Cameron, who will come to Slovakia for the first time.
"Besides Mr. Cameron, five more prime ministers, six presidents and almost a thousand participants will attend this year's GLOBSEC," added Vass.
"GLOBSEC has consistently strengthened the voice of Slovakia and other Central European nations in international affairs. The numbers of presidents, prime ministers, ministers and international experts who participate regularly in this Forum certainly testify to this. In addition, the topics and ideas that are discussed in Bratislava very often set the agenda of the international politics," stressed Milan Solar, Director of the GLOBSEC Forum and Managing Director of the Slovak Atlantic Commission.
GLOBSEC Forum is the leading annual forum on security and foreign policy in Central Europe. This year, GLOBSEC marks 10 years anniversary since its establishment. Endit
