Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday greeted the people of Seychelles on National Day.

"My dearest sisters and brothers of Seychelles, on your National Day, I convey my warmest greetings and best wishes," Modi tweeted.

Lauding bilateral relations, he said: "India and Seychelles enjoy a relationship that is special, characterised by tremendous goodwill. Seychelles is a vital and valued partner in the Indian Ocean region."

The Indian prime minister also recalled his visit to that country in March this year "during which we agreed to deepen our cooperation in a wide range of areas."

He added: "I am confident that our ties will become much stronger in years to come." Endi
