Two suspects were arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) on Wednesday over alleged war crimes connected to 1990s Bosnia War, local media reported.
Milorad Radakovic and Goran Pejvica, both in their 50s, were detained in Prijedor, northwest of BiH. Members of State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) carried out the search and arrest operation in accordance with the order by the Prosecutor's Office.
The two were taken to SIPA regional office in Banja Luka, capital of Republika Srpska (RS), an entity of BiH, local media reported, adding that they will then be handed to the Prosecutor's Office.
Some 20 years after the war, BiH still struggles to deal with war crimes issue. Meanwhile, the issue continued to cause tensions among states in the region.
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Tuesday canceled a visit to BiH after a member of BiH tripartite Presidency opposed his trip over the arrest of a Bosnian in Switzerland over a war crimes warrant from Serbia. Endit
