BMW Group vehicle sales hit record high in May

German automaker BMW Group reported here on Friday that its sales continued to grow in May, while deliveries of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles rose by 5.9 percent, hitting the company's best May sales.

A total of 188,287 BMW vehicles were delivered to customers in May. As a result, 890,937 vehicles were delivered in the first five months of the year, up by 7.7 percent year on year.

"The solid growth the BMW Group has achieved this year continued in May, with all sales regions recording an increase in sales," said Ian Robertson, member of the board of management of BMW AG for sales and marketing.

"Our innovative, new products are achieving pleasing sales around the world and I am delighted that we have sold over 10,000 BMW i vehicles in the first five months of this year," Robertson added.

According to BMW, sales for the first five months of the year in the Chinese mainland increased by 3.0 percent to 190,427. Endit
