Mexico holds children's art exhibition on China

An exhibition of children's art on China held in Mexico generated great interest among teachers, parents and young artists, organizers said Thursday.
Nearly 1,000 budding artists submitted their works inspired by the Asian giant, though less than 200 made into the exhibition, titled "China in My Imagination" and jointly organized by the Chinese embassy, the Chinese Cultural Center in Mexico, and Mexico's National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA).
At an opening ceremony of the exhibition, Jorge S. Gutierrez, INBA's deputy director of education and artistic research, underscored the event's ability to arouse Mexican children's enthusiasm for researching and learning about ancient and modern Chinese culture.
According to organizers, the exhibition features 168 works selected from a total of 953 submitted to an art competition, in which more than 26,000 students from 82 primary schools with art programs headed by INBA participated. Endi
