Nigerian cadet players to participate in ITTF China's event

Xinhua, June 12, 2015 Adjust font size:

Nigeria will send two cadet players to the upcoming International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Hopes Week in China, a top official said on Thursday.

The event has been scheduled to run from June 23 to July 5.

The two players are Abayomi Animashaun and Muyibat Bello, currently taking part in the ongoing Junior and Cadet Table tennis Open championship in Cairo.

President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) Wahid Enitan-Oshodi told reporters that the two players were currently ranked number one in the male and female categories.

According to him, their impressive performances are the reason why they have been chosen to attend the China meet.

Enitan-Oshodi said that the federation would continue to assist them to improve their skills.

The two players just made their second appearance at an International competition.

Meanwhile, top Nigerian international, Segun Toriola has been assigned to coach Animashaun while Germany-based Funke Oshonaike will take on the coaching of Bello at the competition. Endi
