4 killed, 5 injured in road mishap in eastern India

Xinhua, June 10, 2015 Adjust font size:

At least four persons were killed and five others injured in a road mishap in the eastern Indian state of Bihar Wednesday, a senior police official said.

"The mishap happened when a vehicle in which the victims were travelling collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction on National Highway 74 near Dilia Bazar in the state's East Champaran district," he said, on condition of anonymity.

While four persons were killed on the spot, those injured have been admitted to a government hospital in state capital Patna, the official said, adding all the victims were going to attend a marriage function at Kuria village in Bagaha.

A probe has been ordered into the incident and a manhunt launched to track down the driver of the truck, who managed to flee the spot, he said. Endi
