The third China-South Asia Expo will be held from June 12-16 in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, with Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao attending the opening ceremony, the Foreign Ministry announced on Tuesday.

The 23rd Kunming Import and Export Fair will be held simultaneously, said ministry spokesperson Hong Lei at a press briefing.

Aiming to boost cooperation between China and South Asian countries and drive development, the expo will draw foreign leaders including Maldives President Abdulla Yameen, Laos Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong and Vietnam Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Hong said.

India is the country of honor of this year's expo, and Thailand is the guest of honor of the Import and Export Fair. Endi
