Xinhua, June 7, 2015 Adjust font size:

A bomb blast that rocked Kunduz city, capital of northern Afghanistan's Kunduz province, claimed the life of a prosecutor on Sunday, said Abdul Wadod, the spokesman for the provincial government.

"Unknown insurgents planted explosive device on the car of prosecutor Mohammad Halim that exploded at around 10:00 a.m. local time killing him on the spot," Wadod told reporters here.

Investigation has been initiated into the case to identify and bring to justice those behind the murder, said the official.

The late Halim had served as prosecutor in the appellate court of Kunduz province for the past few years, the spokesman added.

No group has claimed of responsibility for the bombing. Taliban has for several times targeted judges and prosecutors in Kabul and other cities over the past couple of months. Endi
