Senior official calls for strengthened rural CPC organization

Xinhua, June 6, 2015 Adjust font size:

Senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Yunshan on Saturday stressed the importance of consolidating the Party's rural network.

Liu, a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks at a meeting in Hangzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province, from Friday to Saturday.

Liu highlighted the leading role of CPC grassroots-level organizations in rural areas, requiring them to better implement the Party's policies while improving abilities to serve the people.

He called for enhanced supervision mechanism to ensure policy and financial transparency on village communities' work.

Liu also stressed the significance of competent and responsible personnel in CPC rural organizations.

CPC members in rural regions should work out priorities and focus on solving the most urgent issues to improve agricultural production and people's livelihood, Liu said.

The CPC's central authorities announced on April 30 that it will select competent officials and send them to rural areas to assist the work of local Party organizations. Endi
