Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge's daughter Princess Charlotte will be christened next month by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Kensington Palace announced Friday.

"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are pleased to announce the christening of Princess Charlotte will take place on Sunday 5th July," Kensington Palace said on its official Twitter account.

The one-month-old princess, the royal couple's second child, will be christened at St Mary Magdalene Church at the Queen's Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby said he was "delighted" to be christening Princess Charlotte.

"I am delighted to be invited to conduct the baptism of HRH Princess Charlotte. It will be an extraordinary honor and privilege to help welcome the Princess into the family of the church," he said in a statement.

"Along with her parents and all her family, I look forward to joining in this joyful day of celebration and thanksgiving," the statement added.

The princess was born on May 2 at St Mary's Hospital in London. She is the fourth in line to the British throne.

The princess' official name has been registered as Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. Endit
