China relaxed before showdown with Canada

Ma Jun, midfielder of Chinese women's soccer national team, said on Thursday that she and her teammates are relaxed prior to the upcoming World Cup opener against Canada.

Ma, 26, said China don't fear Canada as they know how to cope with the hosts.

"They have fixed attack formats, we know that well. These days, we have been training for that," said.

After China's top scorer Yang Li was dropped out due to knee injury, Ma said she will try to attack more in the match against Canada.

"The task for the strikers is to score goals. I will try my best to make it. We have trained very hard, but without any pressure. The coaches found ways to take away any pressure from us," she said.

With only two days to go before the kickoff of the World Cup, Chinese players' form is picking up and they are set to put on an inspiring performance against Canada, said China head coach Hao Wei.

"You will see beautiful soccer in the match, and our goal is to win the game, that requires my players to do well at every minute," he said.

Hao said he had analyzed Canada's game and will not make some special arrangement to stop Canada's legendary goalscorer Christine Sinclair.

"We don't have to put all the emphasis on her, we have to deal with the whole team of 11 players," he said. Endit
