Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday closed down by 79.02 points at 11,340.6 points.

The talks between Greece and its creditors are still going on and the disputes remain, which weighed on the sentiment of investors at the stock exchange, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index lost 0.69 percent.

Three among the 30 DAX member shares gained on Thursday. Deutsche Telekom AG advanced by 1.32 percent. Deutsche Boerse AG rose by 1.02 percent. Deutsche Bank AG climbed by 0.23 percent.

The two utilities companies RWE AG St and E.ON SE led the fallers' list, down by 2.93 percent and 2.77 percent. HeidelbergCement AG slipped by 2.41 percent. ThyssenKrupp AG lost 1.97 percent and Linde AG went down by 1.47 percent.

The turnover stood at 4.06 billion euros (around 4.54 billion U.S. dollars ). Deutsche Telekom AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 493.16 million euros (around 551.4 million U.S. dollars). Endit
