Police firing kills youth in Indian-controlled Kashmir

Xinhua, June 4, 2015 Adjust font size:

A youth belonging to minority Sikh community was killed Thursday after Indian police fired upon Sikh protesters in Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The killing took place in Jammu city, the winter capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

Locals said people from the Sikh community were protesting over removal of a hoarding carrying photograph of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale, the icon of anti-India militancy in India's northern state of Punjab during 1980s. Endi
