Xinhua, June 3, 2015 Adjust font size:

Australia's economy grew by 0.9 percent in the March quarter and by 2.3 percent in the 12 months to March, official government figures released on Wednesday revealed.

Gross domestic product (GDP) growth was expected to rise by 0.5 percent in the quarter for an annual rate of 1.9 percent, according to a survey of 12 economists conducted by news agency AAP last week.

The March quarter growth follows a 0.5 percent rise in GDP for the December quarter, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Wednesday. Endi
