Germany's benchmark DAX index closes down

The benchmark DAX index at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Tuesday lost more than 100 points and closed at 11,328.8 points.

Although reports suggested that the Greek government has been working seriously to solve the debt issue, investors are still fearful that it will probably be repeated, according to local analysts. The blue-chip index dropped by 0.94 percent.

Deutsche Bank AG topped the list of risers with an increase of 1.5 percent. Commerzbank AG advanced by 0.79 percent. LANXESS AG, a specialty chemicals company, rose by 0.59 percent. Allianz SE went up by 0.11 percent.

Merck KGaA, a pharmaceutical, chemical and life science company, dropped by 2.57 percent. Daimler AG slipped by 2.43 percent. K+S Aktiengesellschaft, a standard and speciality fertilizers company slid by 2.31 percent. Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA, a health care company, went down by 2.25 percent. Henkel AG & Co. KGaA Vz, a home care company, plunged by 2.13 percent.

The turnover stood at 3.86 billion euros (around 4.22 billion U.S. dollars ). Daimler AG was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 391.17 million euros (around 427.82 million U.S. dollars). Endit
