Eurozone inflation rises for 4th consecutive month in May: Eurostat

Eurozone annual inflation was expected to be 0.3 percent in May, up again from 0.0 percent in April, according to estimates from the statistical office of the European Union (EU) Eurostat on Tuesday.

The index had been rising for the fourth consecutive month. Annual inflation in the 19-member euro area dropped to minus 0.6 percent in the first month of 2015.

Eurozone's annual inflation was 0.5 percent in April 2014.

The largest upward impacts to eurozone annual inflation came from services, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco, and non-energy industrial goods, while energy had the biggest downward impacts, according to Eurostat. Endit
