Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao met French Polynesia President Edouard Fritch in Beijing on Tuesday.

Hailing the traditional friendship between the two sides, Li said cooperation between China and Polynesia was an important component for the new type of China-France all-round strategic partnership.

China hopes to keep close contact with French Polynesia, and increase cooperation in investment, tourism, culture and other areas, he said.

Fritch said his government highly valued its ties with China, and expected to cement bilateral cooperation through the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Endi
