One killed in Washington D.C. shooting

Xinhua, May 28, 2015 Adjust font size:

Shooting on Interstate 295 in Southwest Washington D.C. killed one man and injured another on Wednesday, police said.

Police found two men suffering from gunshot wounds in an SUV, which was stopped on I-295 northbound near the Laboratory Road. One of them died, the other was sent to a local hospital, ABC7 reported.

D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier tells ABC7 that the shooting appears to be related to a road rage. It is believed that occupants of a second vehicle opened fire on the SUV.

Police are searching for the second vehicle and urge motorists who witnessed the shooting to offer information.

I-295 is closed between the Maryland Line and the Blue Plains exit. Endi
