ASEM members to gather in Vietnam to discuss water management for post-2015

Members of the Asia-Europe Meeting ( ASEM) will gather in Vietnam on June 4 to 5 for a seminar on strengthening concerted actions on water management through post- 2015 agenda, said a Vietnamese official here on Thursday.
According to Le Hai Binh, spokesperson of Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the seminar, participants will focus on three major topics, including water resources for post-2015 period, experiences and practices in water management in Asia and Europe, measures towards sustainable water resources for people.
As 2015 is the pivotal year for action towards sustainable development, the ASEM seminar will contribute to further enhancing inter-regional cooperation to respond to challenges related to sustainable water management, promoting the role of co-initiator to promote the Mekong-Danube cooperation mechanism in the framework of ASEM dialogue on sustainable development, Binh said during a regular press conference held in capital Hanoi.
The seminar is the fourth annual event under the ASEM Dialogue on Sustainable Development framework initiated in 2011 and endorsed by the ninth ASEM Summit in 2012.
This is also the second seminar that Vietnam has hosted after the first in 2013. Endi
