China's Xi stresses oil reserve security

Xinhua, May 27, 2015 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the country's oil reserve security while visiting an oil storage base in eastern Zhejiang Province.

During a visit to Aoshan State Strategic Oil Reserve Base on Monday, Xi said the building of a complete contingency safety plan is crucial to oil reserve.

He urged the base to strengthen management, improve the ability to detect safety issues and respond to emergencies to ensure the security of oil reserves.

During his three-day visit to Zhejiang, the President also made a tour to Changhong international ship builing and repairing co. ltd. on Zhoushan Island.

While inspecting the yard, Xi spoke highly of the company's achievements in ship building, repairing and recycling, ocean engineering, and secondhand ship trading.

"As long as an enterprise has an eye for the market and a good ability of allocating production factors including capital, technology and manpower, it can catch up from behind in the fiercest competition," he said.

Xi encouraged the ship firm to improve its core competitiveness and make more contributions to the domestic ocean engineering manufacturing industry. Endi
