Chinese top political advisor meets Jordanian guests

Chinese top political advisor Yu Zhengsheng met with Jordanian Senate President Abdul Raouf Rawabdeh in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon.

Yu, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), said China places great importance on its relations with Jordan, which it has always regarded as a good friend and partner in the Arab world.

Yu expressed appreciation toward Jordan for its positive attitude on jointly developing the "Belt and Road" initiatives proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

He said the two sides should work together to implement the consensus reached by their heads of state by enhancing mutual trust, practical cooperation and people-to-people contact.

Yu said the CPPCC is ready to advance contact with the Senate of the National Assembly of Jordan to support practical cooperation between the two countries.

Rawabdeh expressed willingness to expand bilateral cooperation to wider areas and encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Jordan. He said the Jordanian Senate is ready to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with the CPPCC. Endi
