Kunming-Dhaka international air cargo route opens

An air cargo service connecting southwestern Chinese city of Kunming and Bangladesh capital Dhaka opened on Wednesday.

The 1,281-km route is the first international cargo route from Kunming. It is run by Zhejiang Loong Airlines Co. Ltd. with a Boeing 737-300F aircraft that has a loading capacity of 12 tonnes.

The 2.5-hour flight will run every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Some 6,000 tonnes of goods will be transported through the route every year, said Guo Libao, vice president of the Zhejiang Loong Airlines.

Major goods to Dhaka include cloth, textile, medicine, mechanical equipment, electronics products and flower. Aquatic products are major goods from Dhaka. Endi
