China shines at Australian Open of Badminton

Chinese badminton athletes put on a display of excellence at the opening day of the 2015 Australian Open in Sydney.

Cheung Ngan Yi and Yao Xue fought through the qualifying stage into the elimination round. They now verse each other on Wednesday.

China's stars will hit the court on Wednesday as the elimination rounds begin.

Top seed Chen Long will face R. M. V. Gurusaidutt, second seed Lin Dan will face Vicktor Axelsen and Wang Zhengming will take on Parupalli Kashyap.

In the women's draw, number one seed Li Xuerui will verse Karin Schnasse, Wang Shixian will take on Hsu Ya Ching and Wang Yihan will verse P. V. Sindhu in their opening matches on Wednesday. Endi
