Holidays keep Australian currency trade low key

Xinhua, May 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Australian dollar traded marginally lower after a quiet night of trade with Wall Street and most European markets closed for public holidays.

The local unit was trading at 78.24 U.S. cents, down from 78.31 U.S. cents on Monday.

National Australia Bank analyst Emma Lawson said there was a bit of caution in currency markets as Greece's negotiations with its creditors drag on.

Greece will keep repaying its European Union and International Monetary Fund creditors for as long as it can, and that will continue to influence the Australian dollar. Endi
