Asian consumer electronics show opens in Shanghai

The International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) opened its first fair in Asia on Monday in Shanghai.

Sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) of the United States, International CES Asia has attracted more than 200 science and technology companies from 15 countries and regions.

Gary Shapiro, president and CEO of CEA, said the event is meant to display and explore products and ideas in areas such as the Internet of Things, 3-D printers, robotics and wearable devices.

A number of topics will be discussed, including the consumer electronics market prospects of China and the United States, the impact of the Internet of Things and the technological revolution in wearable devices.

The event is scheduled to last three days.

International CES is a global consumer electronics and consumer technology trade show that takes place every January in Las Vegas, Nevada. Endi
