Mexican driver "Checo" Perez places seventh in Monaco GP F1

Mexican driver Sergio "Checo" Perez from Sahara Force India placed seventh on the sixth round of the Formula One World Championship at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Monaco round was won for third time in a row by German driver Nico Rosberg .

The Monaco circuit gave Perez his best result in the last 15 competitions of the Grand Prix.

Perez described the race as running "with much calm" from beginning to end.

The Mexican driver highlighted the end of the race when he was close to Finnish driver, Kimi Raikkonen from the Ferrari team, in spite of the great difference in terms of car equipment.

"This is a great result for me and for my team", if you consider today's position.

His teammate, German Nico Hulkenberg, crossed the finish line in 11th place, just one place from finishing in the points and after placing 13th.

The second place was won by German Vettel of Ferrari team, while third place went to English champion Lewis Hamilton.

Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado abandoned the race early, while Brazilian Felipe Nasr placed ninth and his countryman Felipe Massa, reached 15th.

The next race of the Championship will be held in Canada on June 7th
