Japan's trade deficit stands at 53.4 bln yen in April

The Japanese Finance Ministry said Monday that the world's third largest economy's trade deficit stood at 53.4 billion yen (about 439.32 million U.S. dollars) in April.

The ministry said in a preliminary report that, on a custom- cleared basis, Japan's exports rose 8.0 percent from a year earlier, while imports dropped 4.2 percent. Endi
