Tokyo shares open higher on weaker yen

Tokyo shares opened higher Monday on the Japanese yen's depreciation which boosted investors' sentiment in export-oriented stocks.

At 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 101.81 points, or 0.50 percent, from Friday to 20,366.22.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 9.31 points, or 0.56 percent, at 1,657. 16. Endi
