South Korea edged Thailand 3-2 to rank the first in Group F at Asian Women's Volleyball Championship here on Sunday.
The game was between the defending champion of the 2013 Championship and Champion of 2014 Inchon Asia Games.
After losing the first set, the Koreans fought back in the second set 25-17.
With each team won another set (South Korea 18-25, 25-19), Thailand caught up from 4-10 to 11-13 in the final set. Sadly an out-of-bound gave South Korea the match point before Kim Yeonkoung finished with a powerful smash.
With an all-win record, South Korea now ranks the first place in Group F and will meet Iran who finished fourth in Group E.
China kept a clean record by beating Vietnam 3-0 tonight to lead the Group E. They will play against Kazakhstan who now sits at the bottom of Group F.
The other two winners today were Japan who defeated Iran 3-0 and Chinese Taipei who upset Kazakhstan 3-2. The former will challenge Thailand while the latter will face Vietnam. Endi
